Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Vicksburg, Michigan

Rather than serving as an interpreter, you will use your fluent American Sign Language (ASL) skills to guide, enrich, and promote meaningful communication and learning among students who are working to develop strong language foundations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in American Sign Language
- Demonstrated background as a Language Facilitator
- Experience supporting students with language deprivation
- Ability to read and comprehend program plans, instructions, and essential classroom materials
- Must secure and maintain all necessary training, certifications, and related documentation
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Reliable attendance and consistent job performance
- Physical presence required at the designated worksite each scheduled day
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to meet individual student needs
- Monitor student understanding and offer instructional and behavioral reinforcement according to teacher direction
- Introduce and explain vocabulary, reinforce classroom material, and foster student communication and self-advocacy
- Support teachers and administration in duties that enhance the classroom environment, while prioritizing language facilitation
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by school administration
