Qualifications:
- Valid state license/certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (where required)
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Previous experience interpreting in pediatric or school environments preferred
- Skilled in providing interpreting services in one-on-one academic settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality sign language interpreting for an assigned student throughout the school day
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff
- Adapt to the student’s individual needs and accommodations as outlined in educational plans
- Support student participation in classroom lessons, activities, and school functions
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines
