Qualifications & Experience:
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher is required for consideration
- Strong command of American Sign Language and professional interpreting skills
- Prior experience interpreting within school or educational settings valued
- Ability to work effectively as a 1:1 interpreter, providing tailored support
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive approach to collaboration
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, effective interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for one student in a school environment
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Adapt communication techniques to meet the student’s individualized needs throughout the school day
- Maintain clear, respectful communication and uphold student confidentiality
- Monitor student comprehension and engagement, contributing to a positive learning experience
- Participate in relevant training and school meetings as needed
