Key Qualifications:
- Current national or state interpreter licensure required
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Demonstrated experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations, preferably within educational settings
- Strong ability to interpret in real time, bridging communication between student, peers, and staff
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine passion for student advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized, one-on-one sign language interpreting support to a designated student throughout the school day
- Support academic and social integration by interpreting instructions, discussions, and activities
- Collaborate with educators, special education professionals, and family members to best meet the student’s needs
