Key Qualifications:

- Credentialed as a professional Sign Language Interpreter; experience in educational settings is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and sensitively support students.
- Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and understanding of FERPA/confidentiality requirements.
- Flexible, patient, and capable of adapting interpretation to diverse classroom activities and learning styles.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL, supporting a specific student throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and students to facilitate communication and promote access to curriculum and activities.
- Assist with interpreting for classroom instruction, group discussions, assemblies, and extracurricular events as needed.
- Contribute feedback regarding student progress and communication needs to the educational team.
- Maintain the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and respect for student privacy.
