Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Carpinteria, California

Responsibilities will include interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and events. Preferred candidates will possess:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter Certification in California
- Experience interpreting in school or educational settings (preferred)
- Strong skills in ASL with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work full-time, in-person during the school’s operating hours
- High level of cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and teamwork
Key duties:
- Accurately interpret classroom discussions, lectures, and activities for students
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide seamless communication
- Adapt interpreting style to fit a variety of classroom subjects, age groups, and linguistic needs
- Advocate for student access and equity in educational participation
