Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within educational settings
- Comfortable supporting students with hearing devices such as cochlear implants
- Ability to work 1:1 and collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) preferred or as required by state guidelines
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to student development
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between the student and staff, ensuring access to instruction and school activities
- Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and assignments
- Support social interactions to promote inclusion within the peer group
