Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment preferred
- Able to provide effective 1:1 support and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Open to both local and travel professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom lessons, assignments, and school activities for a designated student using American Sign Language
- Ensure clear and accurate communication between student, educators, and peers
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and therapy providers to adapt learning materials and facilitate engagement
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Monitor and support the academic and social progress of the student, troubleshooting communication barriers as needed
