What we’re seeking:
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher (required)
- Previous experience providing 1:1 ASL interpretation in educational settings preferred
- Ability to interpret in both classroom and school-related situations while upholding strict confidentiality
- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, special education professionals, and families
- Commitment to fostering an accessible, inclusive, and supportive environment for every student
- Willingness to work full-time and on-site during standard school hours
Your role will involve:
- Delivering accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for students in all academic and extracurricular settings
- Supporting students’ participation in classwork, discussions, assemblies, and activities
- Adapting interpreting techniques to suit various learning styles and subject matter
- Collaborating with education teams to monitor student progress and ensure effective communication
- Assisting with IEP meetings and parent/teacher conferences as needed
