Sign Language Interpreter in Montrose, CO

Two full-time, onsite Sign Language Interpreters are needed to ensure equitable access to instruction and school activities, fostering inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation throughout the instructional day
- Accurately interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, extracurricular activities, and other campus events
- Support effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and district policies
- Collaborate closely with educators, special education personnel, and related service providers to maximize student success
- Prepare for daily interpreting assignments by reviewing upcoming instructional materials as appropriate
- Uphold professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreters
Qualifications:
- Current Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education or eligibility to obtain one
- Associate’s degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a closely related field
- Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination
- Minimum EIPA Performance Score of 3.5 or current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification
- Ability to meet all Colorado Department of Education and district hiring requirements, including background clearance
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
Schedule Details:
- Full-time, onsite position
- Monday–Friday, aligned with the academic calendar
