Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Olathe, Colorado

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students throughout the instructional day.
- Facilitate interpretation during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, extracurricular activities, and other school-related events.
- Support open communication among students, educators, and school personnel.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in alignment with FERPA and district policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers to promote student achievement.
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson and instructional materials as necessary.
- Uphold professional standards and ethical practices in educational interpreting.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education.
- Associate's degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, American Sign Language (ASL), or a related discipline.
- Completion of the EIPA Written Examination.
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5 or above or hold current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) Certification.
- Ability to satisfy all Colorado Department of Education and district employment requirements, including background check.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
This full-time, onsite opportunity offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule aligned with the district’s academic calendar, allowing you to build routines and relationships within the school community.
