Key Requirements:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated experience in school settings
- Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 4.0
- Strong commitment to student confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work on-site during school hours (8:45 am – 3:00 pm, Monday–Friday, minus 30-minute lunch)
- Previous success in 1:1 educational interpreter roles highly desirable
- Team-oriented mindset with exceptional communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpreting for a third-grade student throughout all classroom activities and school functions
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to ensure the student’s needs are met and educational goals are achieved
- Maintain accurate records and uphold all school policies and ethical standards
- Adapt to dynamic classroom environments and varying learning styles
- Assist with occasional translation of instructional materials when necessary
