Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated experience in educational settings
- Strong understanding of interpreter ethics and confidentiality practices
- Ability to navigate diverse school environments and adapt to each student’s unique communication needs
- Relevant certification or credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for students, staff, and families across multiple school sites
- Support classroom learning and extracurricular activities, adapting communication methods as needed
- Collaborate with special education teams to create inclusive learning environments
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
- Travel between assigned sites as required to support students throughout the district
