Elementary School ASL/SLI Interpreter
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified ASL Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year in Gig Harbor, WA. This position supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students by providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation services in educational settings.
This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring students have equal access to classroom instruction, educational programs, and school activities while working alongside a collaborative educational team.
Work Schedule:
Full School Year (2026–2027)
Elementary Caseload
Student In-Person Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Potential opportunities for additional hours through extracurricular activities
Qualifications:
Completion of an Interpreter Training Program required
RID Certification and/or EIPA Assessment Score of 4.0 or higher required
EIPA score of 4.0 or above required in accordance with Washington State law
Successful fingerprint clearance and Washington State Patrol (WSP), FBI, and sexual misconduct background clearances required
Valid Washington State Driver's License or evidence of reliable transportation required
Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and professional skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in classroom and educational settings
Facilitate communication between Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students, teachers, staff, families, and community members
Support compliance with IDEA, ADA, and other applicable state and federal regulations
Assist with instructional activities under teacher supervision as appropriate
Promote student access to curriculum, classroom instruction, and school activities
Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions
Collaborate with educational teams to support student success
