Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Lakewood, Washington

Key Qualifications:
- Successfully completed an Interpreter Training Program
- RID and/or EIPA assessment score of 4.0 or above, per Washington State requirements
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License or demonstrated mobility
- Prior school-based interpreting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, ADA, and legal mandates for accessibility
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation during classes and school activities
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom engagement and ensure content accessibility
- Facilitate communication among students, teachers, staff, and families, supporting educational and social inclusivity
- Assist with instructional tasks under the direction of certified educators
- Promote student independence and integration within the school community
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to ethical interpreting standards
