Sign Language Interpreter in Harvard, IL

Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Ability to interpret and transliterate between American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and educational accommodations a plus
- Strong communication skills and professional discretion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and school events for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement effective communication strategies
- Support students' participation in all aspects of school life, including academic and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school policies
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with district, state, and professional standards
