Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to accurately interpret spoken language in a school setting.
  • Previous experience interpreting at the high school level is highly valued.
  • Awareness of confidentiality procedures and sensitivity to student needs.
  • Committed to punctuality, reliability, and collaboration with educators and school staff.
  • Familiarity with any additional state or district requirements for interpreters (such as a Professional Educator License, Para Cert, or relevant certifications).
