Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Current listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health) is required
- EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and proof of passing the written EIPA, both must be documented
- Credentials such as RID or NIC are accepted, but you must also have the EIPA written
- Experience supporting high school-aged students preferred
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and team collaboration within a school setting
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting and drug screening as required by the district and agency
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families in classroom and school settings
- Accurately convey spoken and signed communications in real time to ensure full access for all participants
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance the educational process for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with district and agency procedures
- Flexibly serve across assigned campuses (number of schools will be determined)
