Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings
- Experience with virtual interpreting platforms (VOCO experience required)
- EIPA score of 4.0 (both performance and written), and active listing on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
- RID and NIC certifications are also accepted, provided the written component is met
- Previous experience working with high school-aged students is highly preferred
- Ability to manage varying caseloads and adapt to different school sites as assigned
Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation for high school students according to specified IEPs and educational plans
- Work 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar from ASAP through late May 2027
- Collaborate closely with students, teachers, and support staff to foster an inclusive academic atmosphere
- Travel as needed to various school locations within the district (number of schools and student caseload to be determined)
- Maintain up-to-date records in compliance with all school and regulatory requirements
