Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and current Louisiana teacher’s certification in Hearing Impaired required.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with hearing impaired students in regular educational settings.
- Proficiency in sign language and troubleshooting hearing aids, cochlear implants, and assistive technology.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and collaborative skills.
- Experience maintaining detailed records, IEPs, and reports.
- Professionalism and strong time management with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Must successfully complete district fingerprinting and drug screening requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver IEP-directed instruction and support to hearing impaired students.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt educational materials and prepare assessments.
- Provide in-service training to school personnel for optimal integration of hearing impaired students.
- Track and report student progress and maintain educational records.
- Serve as a resource for assistive technology needs and troubleshooting.
