Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or RID/NAD Certification
- At least 2 years of practical sign language interpreting experience preferred
- Comfort working with elementary, middle, and high school learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to varying classroom environments and student needs
- Collaborative spirit and reliability in maintaining confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation for students in grades K–12, including 1:1 support as needed
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Aid in classroom integration to ensure students access curriculum and extracurricular activities
- Support educators in understanding Deaf culture and interpreting best practices
- Follow all relevant educational regulations and ethical practices for interpreting in schools
