Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

In this role, you will be placed at one of several schools, including high schools and a K-8 academy, serving students in academic and extracurricular settings. With a steady weekly schedule, you’ll contribute to the success and confidence of your assigned students by enabling effective communication and participation in all aspects of school life.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure.
- Minimum 3.5 EIPA score.
- Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably within K-12 schools.
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and adeptness bridging communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and staff.
- Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and student advocacy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, impartial interpretation services during classroom instruction and school activities.
- Collaborate with educators and school personnel to support individualized student needs.
- Assist in ensuring equal access to curriculum, programs, and school communications.
- Maintain professionalism and uphold standards set by school and district guidelines.
