What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Possession of a Level 3 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA 3.6+), or certification through NAD or RID (CI/CT, CSC, NIC, NIC-A, NIC-M)
- Commitment to interpreting for K-8 DHH students
- Willingness to be assigned to one main school site; flexibility to support other locations if needed
- Ability to provide an interpreting sample video (Rock Cycle clip) as part of the application process
- Completion of fingerprinting and credentialing requirements (prior FL school district fingerprints may be eligible for verification)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Daily responsibilities include:
- Interpreting classroom instruction and school activities using American Sign Language
- Supporting clear communication between students, staff, and peers
- Facilitating full participation of DHH students in school experiences
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists to optimize student learning
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
