Position Overview
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking four dedicated and highly qualified Sign Language Interpreters (SLI) for full-time contract positions in the Lodi area. These in-person, on-site roles are scheduled for the complete 2026/2027 academic school year, offering a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours per week (6.5-hour days).
These positions are perfect for certified interpreters looking for stable daytime hours, a predictable school calendar, and the opportunity to provide critical, direct communication access to students within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, real-time Sign Language interpretation for students within the classroom setting to ensure full access to educational content and social interactions.
Serve as a vital communication bridge between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, their peers, teachers, and school staff.
Support students across 1 to 2 school sites maximum, adapting to classroom dynamics and instructional styles.
Collaborate with educational teams to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
Must possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 4.0 or higher (or equivalent state certification).
Please note: The district strictly requires certified interpreters and cannot accept ASL Paras for these openings.
Prior experience interpreting within a K-12 educational framework is highly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to professional interpreting ethics and standards.
