Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment preferred
- Understanding of educational settings and protocols
- Ability to foster a positive and supportive communication experience
- Strong sense of professionalism, adaptability, and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and ASL for a high school student
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and school staff
- Adapt interpreting modalities as needed for both in-person and virtual sessions (virtual work offers 25–30 hours weekly)
- Support access to classroom instruction and school activities
- Collaborate with educators and support personnel to ensure inclusive educational participation
