Sign Language Interpreter in Minneapolis, MN

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter licensure for the state of Minnesota
- Minimum score of 4.0 on the EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)
- Prior experience working in a K-12 educational environment, preferably with 1:1 student assignments
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educational teams including teachers, therapists, and administration
- Commitment to supporting student access, participation, and communication in both classroom and school activities
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, high-quality sign language interpretation for a third-grade student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and school staff to ensure full participation
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet changing classroom activities and student needs
- Take an active role in IEP meetings, team discussions, and ongoing progress monitoring
You’ll enjoy a predictable weekday schedule—Monday through Friday, approximately 33.75 hours per week, from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm with a daily lunch break.
