1:1 Pediatric K-5 Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Oroville, California

Focused on individualized (1:1) pediatric interpretation, you’ll help bridge the communication gap for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equal access to classroom instruction and social interaction.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification or credential in Sign Language Interpretation required
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations in an educational environment
- Familiarity with supporting students in Pre-K through Middle School
- A patient, adaptable approach to meeting individual student needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpreting services between students and school staff in classroom and social settings
- Tailor interpreting strategies for various developmental and academic levels (Pre-K, Kindergarten, Elementary, and Middle School)
- Support students during core instruction, extracurricular activities, and transitions throughout the day
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity regarding student information
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and family members to optimize educational outcomes
- Assist in developing and adapting materials for improved access and understanding
