This role enables you to facilitate meaningful communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and their peers, truly making an impact in their daily lives while honing your skills and adding new achievements to your professional journey.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (RID) or a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment (candidates with EIPA below 4.0 considered for ASL Para roles)
- Competency in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation
- Experience assisting students academically and socially, preferred
- Ability to work effectively with K-8 (elementary/intermediate) students—preference for school level honored
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Support education and communication among deaf/hard of hearing students and their peers and teachers
- Provide accurate interpreting services in classroom and school settings
- Assist students in academic and life skill development
- Monitor and support students during various activities
- Work full time onsite (approx. 30 hours per week)
