Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Paradise, California

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or a 4.0+ score on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment.
- Candidates with an EIPA below 4.0 are welcome and will be considered for the ASL Para role.
- Strong sign to voice and voice to sign interpreting skills.
- Experience assisting students in academic settings, especially in reading, writing, math, or vocational/living skills, is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with young learners.
- Reliable and professional with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services to ensure effective communication among hard of hearing/deaf students, peers, teachers, and school staff.
- Support students’ academic and vocational development through in-class assistance, with flexibility to assist during outdoor or community activities.
- Adapt to students’ needs in classrooms to promote learning and inclusion.
- Exhibit classroom management by monitoring students in various school settings.
- Preference can be specified for working with elementary or intermediate grades.
This full-time, onsite-only position runs approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours daily), with multiple openings available. Become a valued contributor to students’ educational journeys in an inclusive, supportive environment.
