Assignment Information
- Elementary school caseload available
- Itinerant/float opportunities between buildings
- Interpreting services throughout the school day
- Up to 5 school buildings within the district
- Collaborative educational setting
Responsibilities
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Support student participation in classroom instruction and school activities
- Collaborate with special education teams and school staff
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards
- Travel between assigned school buildings as needed
Qualifications
- Illinois Sign Language Interpreter credentials as required by state and district regulations
- EIPA score and/or state licensure preferred
- Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
