Contract Dates: August 3, 2026 – May 28, 2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week (7:00 AM–2:30 PM)
Compensation: Starting at $32.00 per hour, with higher pay available for highly experienced candidates.
We are seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide onsite interpreting services at Troutman Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a contract position supporting students in an educational setting.
Duties
Provide professional sign language interpreting services throughout the school day.
Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers.
Arrive before the student's scheduled arrival each day and be fully prepared to begin services.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to school policies.
Collaborate with school staff to support the student's educational experience.
Requirements
Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) credentials.
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required.
OR current RID certification, which qualifies candidates to interpret regardless of EIPA status.
Experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
