What You’ll Bring:
- Demonstrated SLI certification or equivalent credential
- 0-3 years of experience (early career candidates encouraged)
- Increased rate consideration for 4-6 years or 7+ years of direct interpreting experience
- Thorough knowledge of deaf culture and communication access needs in school settings
- Ability to interpret for students with little or no verbal communication, adapting sign language and interpreting strategies as needed
- Flexibility to work on-site at least four days per week (on-site or hybrid options available)
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person or hybrid sign language interpreting for students and staff
- Support effective communication in classrooms, small groups, and evaluation settings
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SAILS, and STEPs program staff
- Adjust interpreting methods to meet individual student communication styles and needs
- Maintain precise, confidential records and promote student engagement
