Sign Language Interpreter in Port Wentworth, GA

The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (please reach out for consideration if your score is below this threshold)
- Experience working in school or adaptive educational settings preferred
- Ability to effectively support students with physical and communication needs, including those using wheelchairs
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach with educators, parents, and support teams
- Commitment to in-person service; this position is onsite only
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for a high school student within an adaptive classroom
- Collaborate directly with special education teachers and service providers to facilitate communication and support comprehensive educational access
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the student’s unique needs, including physical and emotional support as appropriate
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents and staff to monitor and address student progress and services
