Make an impact supporting students’ communication needs in educational settings for the 2026-2027 school year! Four skilled Sign Language Interpreters are needed for a rewarding full-time, onsite opportunity serving K-12 caseloads across locations in Rosenburg and Douglas, Oregon. This contract position will run from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027, working collaboratively within a diverse school environment.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure
- Demonstrated experience providing interpretation services in K-12 school settings preferred
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled at facilitating communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and staff
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and collaborate with students, teachers, and families
- Flexible and adaptive to varied classroom settings and grade levels
Responsibilities:
- Deliver onsite interpreting services to students in both general and special education classrooms
- Work closely with educators, Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialists, and other staff to ensure full access to curriculum and school activities
- Support students with daily classroom instruction, assemblies, extracurriculars, and individualized education program (IEP) meetings
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with school and legal standards
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment for all learners
