Qualifications:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or an EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment score of 4.0 or above
- Open to candidates with EIPA under 4.0 (will be referred to as ASL Para)
- Experience facilitating communication between deaf/hard of hearing students, their peers, and school staff
- Proficiency in both voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting
- Ability to assist with academic, vocational, and daily living skills
- Comfortable working onsite, with a preference for middle or high school settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services in educational settings
- Support hard of hearing and deaf students in academics and daily activities
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to ensure effective communication
- Monitor and assist students during classroom and community activities
