Sign Language Interpreter in San Luis Obispo, CA

Qualifications and Experience:
- Current California SLP license or CA CTC credential required
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, especially K-12, highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to suit various age groups and learning needs
- Collaborative spirit—comfortable working with educators, students, and families
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Support classroom instruction and related school activities by conveying spoken communication into sign language and vice versa
- Adapt interpretations for a diverse caseload, ensuring accessibility in academic and social settings
- Consult with teachers and staff to optimize strategies for student inclusion and participation
- Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all students
