This is a contract, full-time, on-site position open to travel professionals passionate about working in schools. You’ll join a supportive team committed to fostering inclusion and educational access.
What you’ll need:
- Current national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working in educational settings, preferably with one-on-one student support
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism
Key responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation between students and school staff in classroom and campus settings
- Facilitate communication for academic instruction, group activities, and school events as needed
- Assist with adapting instructional materials and activities to ensure student engagement and understanding
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and ancillary staff to support students’ educational and social needs
- Maintain up-to-date documentation per school and regulatory standards
