Step into a rewarding role supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter. Providing essential communication access, you’ll work on-site in a dynamic school environment where your skills and professionalism make a difference every day. This contract opportunity starts as soon as possible and continues through May 26, 2027. While weekly hours are being confirmed, anticipate a full-time schedule of approximately 37.5 hours. You’ll be assigned to one school site, facilitating continuity and meaningful connection with your students and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as an interpreter for the deaf through either the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: BEI I/II (previous system) or Basic (current system)
- Strong ability to facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and the school community
- Experience in K-8 educational settings is highly valued
- Must be committed to on-site placement (not a virtual/remote position)
- Capable of passing a district fingerprinting and background check promptly due to time-sensitive credentialing requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert interpretation services for PK-8 students and staff
