Step into a meaningful role supporting high school students as a Sign Language Interpreter on a full-time contract assignment. In this position, you’ll play a vital part in fostering accessible and inclusive educational experiences for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will be working near the Vista and San Diego, CA area, assisting a high school-aged student throughout the school day.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially with school-aged children
- Familiarity with interpreting in educational settings
- Ability to interpret effectively in both one-on-one and group environments
- Relevant national certification or state credential for educational interpreting (or eligibility)
- Strong communication skills and respect for student confidentiality
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for a high school student during classroom instruction and school activities
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to ensure student understanding and participation
- Adjust interpreting style and approach to match the needs of the student and classroom setting
- Support inclusion by facilitating communication between students, peers, and staff
- Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and confidentiality at all times
