Position 1:
- Location: Vernon Hills
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm
- Assignment runs through May 28, 2027.
Position 2:
- Location: Grayslake
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–12pm
- Assignment runs through May 20, 2027.
Both roles require on-site attendance and allow you to collaborate closely with students, educators, and support staff in diverse school settings.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation within educational settings
- Holds one of the following certifications: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval, EIPA 3.0–3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval, or BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials with ISBE Approval
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying student needs
- Collaborative approach to working with classroom teachers and special education teams
- Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language to ASL (and vice versa) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Foster an accessible and inclusive classroom environment
- Support students across various academic and social settings
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in educational interpreting
- Participate in meetings and trainings as needed
