In this dynamic role, you will serve as a bridge between students who are Deaf or hard of hearing, their peers, and staff. You’ll work consistently with a weekly schedule of 30 hours, Monday through Friday. Engagement begins in August 2026 and continues through May 2027.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Fluency in American Sign Language and relevant interpreting techniques, ideally within school settings
- 4.0 or higher EIPA Score or RID Certification
- Current credentials/certifications in Sign Language Interpreting
- Ability to work collaboratively with both students and educators
- Passion for advocating for accessibility in education
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and families
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and administration
- Maintain professionalism, ethical interpreting standards, and confidentiality
- Assist in adapting learning materials and environments for students’ access needs
