Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL)
- Minimum ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Previous experience providing 1:1 interpreting services, ideally in a pediatric or school-based environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and build rapport with students, educators, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, real-time sign language interpretation for a single student in classroom and school-based activities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational team members to facilitate effective communication and student engagement
- Support the academic and social development of the student by ensuring full access to instructional content and peer interaction
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to established ethical guidelines in all interpreting services
- Participate in individual education planning and contribute observations to enhance student success
