This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027, at multiple locations in Southern Oregon. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll collaborate across diverse educational settings, adapting to the needs of students and faculty. This role offers meaningful daily interactions and the chance to contribute to a supportive school community.
What we're looking for:
- Valid Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure
- Prior experience interpreting in K-12 or educational settings
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to facilitate clear communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students and staff
- Flexibility, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to working on-site for the entirety of the contract
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and meetings for students and staff
- Support students in both group and one-on-one settings
- Collaborate with teachers and educational teams to promote student inclusion
- Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality laws
- Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when required
- Maintain accurate records of services provided
