Your workdays will span from August 24, 2026 to June 11, 2027, serving students in the scenic surroundings of Southern Oregon. You’ll interpret for a diverse caseload in multiple locations, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Requirements:
- Current Oregon certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, with strong skills adapting to a K-12 environment
- Professional experience working with children and/or adolescents in educational settings preferred
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities
- Commitment to full-time, onsite work throughout the 2026-2027 academic year
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, age-appropriate sign language interpretation for students, staff, and family members during instructional and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other interpreters to support students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt interpreting style to fit the unique needs of each student and classroom setting
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to student progress reports as needed
- Participate in ongoing professional development
