Step into an impactful role supporting students’ education and communication needs as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school setting. We’re seeking skilled professionals to provide American Sign Language interpretation between students, educators, and staff during the 2026-2027 academic year. Multiple positions are available, with placements at high schools and a K-8 academy, allowing you to work closely with students across various age groups and learning environments.
This full-time, contract opportunity spans from early August through late May, offering a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year.
What we’re looking for:
- Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, with strong skills in educational settings
- Valid EIPA score of at least 3.5
- Ability to interpret in classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and engaging collaboratively within school teams
- Adaptability to work in diverse educational environments and support a range of student needs
- Experience in schools is preferred but passionate, qualified interpreters from other backgrounds are welcome
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver interpretive services between students, teachers, staff, and families
- Facilitate communication in academic, administrative, and social settings
- Support students’ full access to the curriculum and campus events
- Maintain accurate records and uphold ethical standards of interpreting
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with education professionals
