Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with 3.5 EIPA or higher
- Prior experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt interpreting style to students’ needs
- Confidentiality and professionalism in school environments
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Facilitate two-way communication between students, staff, and peers
- Support students’ full participation in academic and extracurricular events
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote inclusion
- Adhere to school procedures and ethical standards for educational interpreters
