Multiple positions are available for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning in early August and concluding at the end of May. Each interpreter will be placed at one of several welcoming schools, working a steady 37.5-hour week.
Your expertise will help foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment where Deaf and hard-of-hearing students can thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to build strong, supportive relationships with students, teachers, and staff while providing a vital service in educational settings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational or school-based roles
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to interpret across age groups and adapt communication as needed
- Professional, ethical, and clear communicator
- Team player who collaborates easily with educators and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in classrooms and school-related events
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and district guidelines
