Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.0 or above
- Active or applied for Professional Educator License (PEL) for interpreting in schools
- Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience supporting DHH students in educational settings is a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear communication between DHH students and their peers, teachers, and staff using sign language
- Interpret classroom instruction, group discussions, assignments, and school activities
- Support students’ social and academic engagement throughout the school day
- Collaborate with educators and the DHH team to meet individual student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning when needed
- Foster an encouraging, accessible, and inclusive atmosphere for all learners
