Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Loves Park, IL

Qualifications & Experience:
- EIPA score of 3.0 or higher required
- Eligibility for or possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL) for interpreting in schools
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid grasp of interpreting techniques
- Prior experience in a school setting or with DHH programs is highly valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassion and dedication to supporting student independence and success
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation for DHH students during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to tailor interpretation services and promote accessible communication
- Facilitate social integration by interpreting in both academic and extracurricular environments
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all aspects of interpreting
- Communicate progress or concerns with appropriate school personnel and engage in ongoing professional development
