Sign Language Interpreter in Rochelle, IL

Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent) preferred
- Experience providing interpretation services in a school or similar youth-based setting
- Comfort collaborating with classroom teachers, staff, and support services to ensure full access for students
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, accessible environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing children
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, student interactions, and school events using ASL
- Adapt communication styles to suit varying student needs and educational contexts
- Collaborate with educators to ensure effective delivery of lessons and activities
- Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards for educational interpreting
- Provide feedback and observations to teachers and student support teams as needed
