Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant school environment. In this role, you'll work with a diverse group of students throughout the school day, partnering closely with classroom teachers, service providers, and fellow education professionals. The schedule runs from July 29 through May 25, with hours from 8:05 am to 3:35 pm—allowing you to engage with students during key educational moments.

Qualifications and Background:

  • Credentialed Sign Language Interpreter (appropriate certifications required)
  • Experience supporting EC-3rd grade students preferred
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to work with a range of students, including those who are mainstreamed and in specialized DHH settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to various classroom environments and collaborate with different service providers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into sign language—and vice versa—during instructional time and social interactions
  • Facilitate communication among students, teachers, and service providers
  • Provide interpreting services in both individual and group settings
  • Support students’ language development and inclusion
  • Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism
