Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong expressive and receptive skills
- Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school-based setting
- Certification or licensure in Sign Language Interpretation (state or national credentials preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, and student support staff
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, equitable interpretation services for high school students during classroom instruction, school events, and related activities
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff
- Support inclusivity by fostering access to the curriculum and promoting student participation
- Adapt interpreting style to meet the unique needs of students and classroom environments
- Assist in educational planning sessions and IEP meetings as required
